SANTORINI ...
So here's what happened. We said farewell to Ios and boarded a quick ferry ride to Santorini. We had no accomodation, no transportation, we were tired, we were hungry, we needed a bed. Stepping off the ferry was overwhelming. Men with signs and pamplets, everywhere in our faces yelling "You need place to stay, girls? Look at my apartment." We had initially planned to stay in the town of Thira, however, we were too tired and made a rash decsion- chose the guy who said his apartments had a kitchen (!!!) And so that's how we ended up at Perissa Beach, famous for it's beautiful volcanic black sand. I'm pretty sure we're the only people staying in this place- and it's a bit seedy, and there's a few bugs, but hey, we're on an adventure, right? We've already made great use of the kitchen, made ourselves chicken vegetable soup for lunch (this is a big thing- we normally skip lunch) And then for dinner we cooked up a Napoletana pasta!!! At dusk we explored the so called 'intense nightlife' which was an absolute no-go, so frolicked along the beach and marvelled at the black sand. Tomorrow, we plan to relocate to Thira, so stay tuned for more Santorini updates!!
