Wandering Europe!
Here we go now

In May 2011 I set off on a 7 month journey. With nothing but a backpack on my back, my best friend by my side and a return ticket to EUROPE... Needless to say it was by far the most amazing 7 months of my absolute life!!! Somehow I was motivated enough (and stupid enough) to keep a travel blog going through the whole adventure, and so now, with technology being as fabulous as it is, our story is now roughly preserved on this silly blog.

Sarah here! Now this is a place I would have loved to have spent my childhood(or if I'm honest adulthood as well) summer holidays in! When you see the Brighton Pier with its big crowds, sun chairs, games rooms, food stalls and AMUSEMENT PARK RIDES at the end you instantly feel like everyone here is having fun and like you want to waste all your money there! Staying true to our stingey backpacker ways though we did not waste our money here(just bought some hot dogs and chips haha). It was a great atmosphere and I felt happy every time I walked past it.

We also loved Brighton's famous pebble beach. Here we feasted on Traditional English Fish and Chips! It is not quite as comfortable to sit on but on the plus side when you stand up to go you are not covered in sand.

Besides checking out the windy, lanes filled with boutique stores and vegetarian eateries we also went and saw the Royal Pavillion. It is the palace belonging to King George IV which was designed in a very oriental style architecturally(see photo below) and even more so decoratively on the interior. Unfortunately photos were not allowed inside so you'll just have to come see it yourselves-it is well worth it.

We had our first couchsurfing experience while in Brighton which was really awesome! We stayed with the lovely Ginie who lived about 20 mintues out of Brighton where it was more like beautiful countryside.
She cooked us delicious Malaysian noodles with vegetables(which we have missed) and took us out for tea and scones. In the night she and her talkative room mate took us to their local English Pub and shouted us a real English beer each and even though we were greeted by a dog on the way in and it was filled mostly with oldies we had a great night laughing and making fun of each other and the English. We headed off early the next morning to go to our next destination...Bath.
