Wandering Europe!
Here we go now

In May 2011 I set off on a 7 month journey. With nothing but a backpack on my back, my best friend by my side and a return ticket to EUROPE... Needless to say it was by far the most amazing 7 months of my absolute life!!! Somehow I was motivated enough (and stupid enough) to keep a travel blog going through the whole adventure, and so now, with technology being as fabulous as it is, our story is now roughly preserved on this silly blog.

Amo Venezia!!!

We arrived in Venice and by the time we escaped the airport (which was quickly, the border security over here are is slack compared to Australia) it was absolutely pouring with rain! So disapointing! BUT not to worry, our couchsurfer found us and took us into his home, and we had an evening of Italian wine and Italian pasta, with Italian music and in the company of an Italian .... It was extremely Italian :P By night, with our heads spinning of red wine (well, mine was) we wondered the beautiful streets of Venice! As you can see from the photo up there (taken from the Rialto bridge,) this place is just magical! With it's gorgeous streets and Gondolas and ambiance, this place is just dreamy!!!!!

OUR ONE AND ONLY FULL DAY IN VENICE

We woke up early, well, early for us... And had our day in Venice! They say the number one thing to do in Venice is get lost. Which in my opinion is a little bit ridiculous, as it is inevitable to go to Venice and NOT get lost, this place is a labyrth of streets, canals and bridges! We pretty much spent our day wondering in circle after circle!  The shops here are too captivating. There are shops full of Venetian masks, shops full of Venetian glass, Venetian lace, Venetian gelati and icecream and of course, pizza and pasta shops!  Now don't get me wrong, Sarah and I are very conservative when it comes to shopping, but we decided that if we were to buy anything, it should be from here! So we dived in and out and in and out of the shops. Between going to Rialto brige and famous San Marco square! But don't worry we didn't blow our budgets so we'll still see you all in December ;) All in all, Venice is an enchanted magical island of wonderment and we are SO lucky to be staying right in the heart of it all!
