Wandering Europe!
Here we go now

In May 2011 I set off on a 7 month journey. With nothing but a backpack on my back, my best friend by my side and a return ticket to EUROPE... Needless to say it was by far the most amazing 7 months of my absolute life!!! Somehow I was motivated enough (and stupid enough) to keep a travel blog going through the whole adventure, and so now, with technology being as fabulous as it is, our story is now roughly preserved on this silly blog.

From hitchhiking, to waterfalls, to nudity and then having a Bulgarian boy join our travels... (Another day, another adventure)

TODAYS MISSION: Find Krushunski Waterfallls.

Chris had told us about a hundred times, that if we went to Bulgaria we had to see these waterfalls. And today was our day to find them. We're 5 months through our trip and today we FINALLY worked up the courage to hitch hike.

Now that we've jumped off a bridge, we think we can do anything.

AND SO, within about 5.5 seconds of sticking out the thumb, a man in a renault pulled over. The guy had a pony tail, and sideburns, and was wearing a leather jacket and leather gloves BUT disregardless, he was a lovely fella who took us halfway to our destination. Then leaves us in the middle of nowhere.

We wait on the road maybe for 45 seconds this time, and another car pulls up! We couldn't believe our luck! This guy was actually Turkish, he was wearing a Canadian tuxedo and spoke hardly any english at all. Disregarless, he took us to pretty much the DOORSTEP of the waterfalls- The guys a legend!
ANd so it took us 45 minutes to reach the waterfalls we had pretty much thought we'd never get to- Oh the joys of hitch hiking!!!

AND SO THERE WE WERE.. Amongst raw nature, in an enchanted green picaresque place all to ourselves. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL Sarah and I were on such a high (these days we are always in great spirits- Bulgaria is doing good things to our mentalites.) I can't even explain the beauty of this place. I don't think the photos did either!
I was so excited by it all i publicly removed my clothes ... twice... And Sarah photographed both of these moments haha. ( Don't judge me, i was just getting really hot and needed to remove thermals haha)

And so after we soaked up as much nature as we could, and we'd taken more photos than we took of the eiffel tower, we retreated back into town to find the highway again to hitchhike back to Lovech. In town a Bulgarian boy, Radi, who spoke minimal English
attached himself to us. He was picking flowers for us, and collecting apples and pears from trees and attempting to help us with bus times and pulling over cars with us. He was extremely sweet and great entertainment, but very misguiding as we found ourselves taking three and a half hours to get home, when it had taken us 45 minutes to get there!!! When we finally took a bus back to Lovech he even ran after the bus after us!!!

We were so exhausted as the day came to an end, the trip home just took any energy we had. When we got to Lovech we tried to track down the Spanish guy we were to be staying with, but no hope, whihc was highly dissapointing so we ended up buying hot wedges and chocolate chekcing into a hotel and relaxing in hot baths :)
